UCA Course
UCA Outreach Course on Safe Bicycling
Classroom Sessions on Tuesdays, Feb. 21, 28, and March 6 from 7 to 9 pm at UCA in addition to one outside session TBA
League Cycling Instructor Jim Bruce welcomes beginner and intermediate bicyclists, 16 and up, to Traffic Skills 101. The course consists of three classroom sessions, and an outside skills session on ones own bicycle. This course is certified by the League of American Bicyclists www.bikeleague.org in a nationwide effort to give people the training they need to operate a bike safely and legally. This fast-paced course prepares cyclists for a full understanding of vehicular cycling and is required for those wishing to become instructors themselves. It is designed to give cyclists the tips, tools, and techniques they need to confidently share the road or trail. Classroom coverage includes a bicycle safety check, fixing a flat, riding skills, and crash avoidance techniques. Outside, we will be doing non-strenuous drills on the parking lot and a supervised, slow-ride on nearby streets. Participants must have a bike helmet and a working bicycle that they know how to ride.
Early Fee: $45 | Reg. Fee After Feb. 10: $55
